Bio: Nicola Roberts is a British singer, part of the UK’s Biggest Girl Band Girls Aloud. Nicola is successfully talented as a singer aswell as the makeup range " Dainty Doll " she released as her contribution to the TV series “ The Passions Of Girls Aloud”, In which Nicola , Cheryl , Kimberley and Sarah all lived out there ambition / passion. Nicola Maria Roberts was born on the 5th of October 1985 to Debbie and Paul Roberts in Stamford, Lincolnshire. Her parents were delighted by the arrival of their first child. Nicola, who was 17 years later to become the youngest member of Girls Aloud, was joined by younger sister Francesca Hope in May 1989. Seven years on saw the birth of little brother Harrison James in November 1996, with youngest brother Clayton George following in December 1999 – and due to the growing Roberts Family, Debbie and Paul extended their semi-detached home to make room for the brood. Growing up in Runcorn, Nicola was very close to her family- especially sister Frankie, who at four years her junior was a ready made playmate. She attended Holy Spirit Primary School, where Debbie Nicola’s Mum worked as a dinner lady. Nicola was a popular but very quiet pupil. Nicolas voice came to her families attention at the young age of 11 when she performed at family parties and engagements, wowing audiences with her musical ability , and like many pop stars in the making before her , it all started with a hairbrush masquerading as a microphone. Mum Debbie explains, “She always sang with a hairbrush. Since she was 11, she said there is nothing else she wanted to do. I think fate has got a lot to do with it. If something is meant for you, it will happen. Nicola stunned guests at a dinner party when she sang a rendition of ‘Everybody’s Talking’ while still at primary school. Nicola attended Halton College studying a BTEC in performing arts. The journey for Nicola Roberts began when Mum Debbie rang up for an application and applied for the series for Nicola behind her back. Nicola then gained knowledge of the competition and spoke to her mum about applying , which Debbie then dropped it to her that she had already applied for her , Nicola was delighted. A few weeks later Nicola got a call back and was invited to audition for a place in a new girl band formed on “Popstars – The Rivals” It was audition day and Nicola was in Cornwall when she found out she had an audition, her Dad Paul had to drive her all the way to Manchester where Nicola belted out Shakiras “underneath your clothes”, Nicola passed the audition. It got to a point where they had to pick the final 10 girls and Pete Waterman broke it to Nicola that she didn’t make it into the house. By a strike of luck Nicola received a call 2 weeks later as one of the girls had to move out, Nicola was told that Geri is fighting for you, Pete is fighting for you but Louis Walsh wants Kimberley. Kimberley got into the house, Nicola was not phased by this and still had a gut feeling something was going to happen. She was invited to do an interview and was driven down to London studios where she knew what was going to happen, another girl had been removed from the house and they replaced her with Nicola, finally Nicola was getting her shot. It was the night of the final there was 6 Girls left : Nicola , Cheryl , Nadine , Kimberley , Sarah and Javine. Nicola belted out “ im so excited” to an amazing crowd and of course the 3 judges. It was the moment of truth Davina had the results “ The First Member of the band is …. Cheryl …. , The second member of the band is Nicola !!! OMG Nicola was to be in britains most successful girl band to date. Now Nicola and the rest of the girls Cheryl Cole , Nadine Coyle , Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding all have 19 top ten singles , 4 number ones , 4 SELL OUT Tours with a 5th on the way in 2009 life couldn’t be better for Girls Aloud.
